I have worked with children as young as 2 through to late teens. Therapy for a child usually involves relating or their telling their story through play; drawing, sand tray, physical movement, games and creative endeavours. I will make interpretations or share insights if it is age appropriate and useful. Very often I will see the parent separately or together with the child to help with any parental challenges that have arisen.

Many of the children I see are having trouble relating with their peers, teachers and parents, they may have learning problems or there may be difficulties in their environment such as divorce, illness, death or difficulties with another sibling.

Children tend to respond quickly to therapy and can often ‘turn a corner’ in a matter of weeks, some drop in and out of therapy as they develop and occasionally they may need to be supported for longer.
